Archetype is a one-man band project formed by Troy Biggar, in September of 2007. Born in 1984, he grew up in a very small Alberta, Canada, village called Bawlf. Being primarily a country and rap music town, he didn't even know any hard rock or metal until moving to the city of Camrose in the winter of 2003. This same winter, Troy bought his first guitar and starting teaching himself how to play. After a few years of casual guitar playing, him and his buddy Kevin Johnson started jamming together and working on songs, but Kevin moved away before anything materialized. Troy started writing songs on his lonesome, doing the bass, drums, and in little capacity, keyboards. After a few songs had been recorded in his dank basement, he started looking for a vocalist to finish up some songs he had been writing.
